The 3rd edition of BioAsia, one of the region's high profile events to explore the latest in biotechnology and biosciences, is set to take place at the Hitex Exhibition Centre of Hyderabad from February 9 to 11, 2006.

Sponsored and promoted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, BioAsia provides an opportunity for life sciences companies to showcase the best of products, services, technologies and facilitates interactions and business transactions among life science companies from around the world.

BioAsia 2006 has chosen the theme ``Harnessing the biotech revolution for the benefit of human health, environmental & industrial biotechnology'' realising the increasing importance of this life science discipline in almost every sphere of human activity.
Going with the tradition, BioAsia 2006 will have an international conference, a tradeshow, a business forum, a poster programme, CEO conclave and an Awards Nite.

Over 60 exhibitors, 1000 conference delegates, 70 international speakers and 15,000 visitors across the globe are expected to participate in this annual event.

The conference programme at BioAsia 2006 will focus on the topics such as Bio-Cluster Development in India, Leveraging Logistics to Enhance Biotech & Pharma Industry Competitiveness, Nurturing Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology, Multi-lateral Funding Options for Biotech Companies in India, Stem Cells - Opportunities in Asia , Clinical Trials - The Indian Advantage, Ensuring a Robust Vaccine Industry in Asia & Advances in Vaccine Technology, Drug Licensing Opportunities - Success Stories from Asia etc.

Dr M K Bhan, secretary, DBT will chair the panel discussion on Bio-Cluster Development in India along with industry secretaries from 10 states. Dr N Viswanadham, executive director, Centre for Global Logistics & Manufacturing Strategies, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad will be presenting the paper on Leveraging Logistics to enhance Biotech & Pharma industry competitiveness.

Several leading experts in biotechnology are expected to present breakthrough advancements in the fields of bioscience, according to official sources.

The Business Forum is a major component at BioAsia 2006. For the first time in Asia, business leaders from the life sciences companies will now have access to an evolutionary internet network and business intelligence system to connect with bioscience institutions and people anywhere in the world.
